My brake lights wont work on my 1996 mitsubishi spacewagon 2.0glxi. it is a stop/tail bulb?

there is power going to the fuse box and also to the brake pedal switch.the switch has been taken out and tested and is working.and the bulbs have been changed.the rear side tail lights are working when i put the lights on.there is a towbar on the car with working electrics.can someone give me any clue what to look for,as i dont want to get stopped by the pelars?

What about power coming FROM the switch when it's activated? If there isn't then it's the switch,if there is then it's either the wiring from there to the lamp or the lamp mother board or bulb holder. Pull board/bulb holder out and look for corrosion or any loose or broken wiring.

Try an electric repair shop. They should have you going quickly. good luck
i think you have a traped wire some where in the body or its a dogy bulb this can happen?

you need an auto electricion to sort it
Have you tested for power to the stop light and is it both sides? If only one side and a new, working lamp is fitted, than it will be the power supply. Try checking the plug connection to the rear light assembly by pulling it off and putting it back. Usually if one filament in a lamp works then there is nothing wrong with the earth side.
