It's a 2001.5 Passat and the light that needs to be changed is the driver's side tail light. If you're familiar with this model then you know why that information is important. There's a little shelving fixture built into the driver's side of the trunk that blocks the tail lights. I cant get around it and i cant seem to remove it and I DON'T want to take my car to a shop to get a light replaced. If you know how to do this help would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You have to remove the inside trim to get access to the bolts holding the tail light in position.
