2001 chevy cavalier tail light problem?

i have a 2001 chevy cavalier...when i signal the right blinker, the dash shows the arrow blinking rapidly, telling me my bulb is out on my rear tail light...so after i changed it, it worked for awhile then started blinking fast again...im thinking its a wiring problem or maybe the lube thats in the area where the bulb goes...any suggestions, and if so can i do it myself?

Certain year Cavaliers have silent recalls on rear tail light sockets. It most likely is a bad socket.

You may just have a bad flasher. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. They are usually located on the fuse block on the drivers side under the dashboard. Just unplug the old one and plug in the new one. There are usually 2 of them. One runs the turn signals and the other runs the emergency flashers. If you want, you can switch them to see if that's what the problem is.

Hope this helps and good luck
you have the typ of bulb socket that requiers a complete seal around the lennes area so make sur the seal is tight to keep out mostcher an dust drit , make shure all wires are thight and weather proff also
change the flasher before getting into the wiring.
