Why is my tail light not working?

My brake light works yet the tail doesn't. Its the same bulb. Ive changed the bulb yet its still the same problem. Any ideas.
Why is my tail light not working?
Fuse? the two filaments (stop %26amp; tail) are separately fused.
Why is my tail light not working?
Hello

If the one the other side is working change them over.

If the problem remains you know the bulb is OK

Check hand book to see which fuse covers the Tail light for the side that is not working, It will cover other things in the car, If they are working the fuse is OK

It only leaves the feed wire to the bulb or the bulb holder or the earth from that bulb. Check each,

If the problem changes sides then you have been unlucky and the new bulb was also faulty.

First have you replaced the bulb with a two element bulb?

Second have you checked the fuse for the lights?

Last does the light work on the other side of the car? If it does and you have done all the other checks then the thing to do is pull the connectors for the lights off and make sure they are clean and tight.

Ja.
its possibly not the bulb itself.. it might be an electrical issue. either take it to a dealership, or to a shop that can figure out what's going on with it
on the board that you plug the bulb into,it will have and connector...look inside it for corrosion...its a common fault, the earth terminal looses it contact and stuff can stop working,it can also make the brake light flash with the indicator.
You could swap the new bulb over to the other lamp to check if the bulb is ok?and vice versa. Its unlikely to be a fuse as they usually work more than one lamp?If the bulb lights ok on the other side, then its likely to be a bad connection somewhere.Hope this helps
First check the fuse. Then look on the bulb on the silver part Make sure you are using a 1156 Bulb. it is the one with two elements one For stop and one for tail light.
had the same problem a few weeks ago, asked shop for a tail light bulb still didnt work(oops wrong bulb it needed the one with 2 filaments) now sorted
bad or corroded connection at tail light plug in or possibly a bad ground or a broken or loose wire
Did you get the bulb with the 2 elements?one for the break and the other for the tail light. :-)
it might be the bulb socket.
check the fuse
