Look in the owner's manual for the instructions. If no manual, then you can call the dealer service department.

Try opening the trunk and pull back the carpet behind the area of the tail light. If you see the openings for the bulbs, you can remove the connector and replace the bulb. If no opening but only nuts, remove the nuts and the tail light will be able to be removed from the outside.

I don't know about a Jetta, but in general you need to open the trunk and unbolt the taillights. Then you turn the lightbulb holder out and the bulb just pops right out.

I have a 1999 Suzuki GSX 750 F which is in pretty good condition... for some reason the tail light fuse keeps blowing (and also when this goes the instrument panel lights do too - I assume they're on the same circuit) When I change tail light fuse, the tail light and instrument panel backlight come back on... this doesn't affect the head light, which works fine, or the brake light which also is fine...any ideas why the tail light fuse keeps blowing... and how can I fix it?

There must be a short perhaps caused by the wiring to anything on that circuit touching earth. Only a good inspection of the wiring for the tail lights and the instruments will find it and concentrating on the areas where th wiring bends like around the steering head might find it faster.

Anyone know how to go about changing the tail/brake light in rear of nissan altima 2005?

I have a 2003, and changed it myself, the 2005 model is different, but not by much. It is in the trunk. Directly behind the taillight there should be a hand twistable plastic bolt to take off holding the carpet to the back of the taillight backing, then a philips screw driver can remove the light, it pops off completely from the outside. You can get the replacement bulbs at Walmart, it was pretty easy for me, and I am not good at this stuff.|||I am not 100% sure about that car but most cars you need to change the lights from inside the trunk,, open the trunk and there should be some kind of protecting padding over the area of the lights remove that padding and you will have access to the lighting fixtures.....|||go to a gas station with a mechanic they do it for free and watch so you will know next time its not hard. or even a parts store will too.|||Open the back hatch or trunk look behind a panel which covers the access to the lights, twist open the one which is out and replace as required. If this does not solve the problem go to a reputable shop you have a wiring problem Also check the fuses under the dash

How do you change a tail light in a 2005 chevy malibu. I can't figure out how to get to it?

Inside the trunk, where the lamp is located, there are a couple of thumbscrews that hold the trunk liner in place. Remove them and pull the liner away to reveal the back of the taillight. On the light socket there may be a lock tab which will have to be depressed before the socket can be twisted out. Once removed from the lens assembly you will see the bulb in its socket. A small flat blade screwdriver may be required to remove the bulb from the socket. Gently pry out the bulb at the plastic base only. DO NOT PRY ON THE GLASS!!! Make sure you replace the bulb with the same type and wattage. The GE number will be marked on the plastic base of the bulb. i.e. 4157, 3157, etc.


Install the new bulb and check to see if it works before reinstalling everything.


Assembly is the reverse of the above.
