When the 1995 mustang came out, why did Ford change the design of the tail lights for the 1996 modle and up?

They actually made the horizontal lights in 94 and 95 and then switched to verticle when the new modular engine came about. the horizontals are specific to the 5.0's and also the garbage v6's

Why Ford switched from horizontal to vertical on the taillights? The vertical resembled the original 64 Mustang taillights. IMO they also look much better.



I think the horizontal design was 94 and 95.
